Event: DCFAYC Schools Beach Soccer Festival

Dorset County FA Youth Council, would like to invite your school to take part in the second annual DCFAYC Beach Soccer Festival, which we are now extending, to two afternoons.

Date: Wednesday 22rd June 2016

Time: 11.30am – 17.00pm, Age Group: Year 7 & 8.

Venue: Canford Cliffs, Poole Beach

Date: Thursday 23rd June 2016,

Time: 11.30am – 17.00pm, Age Group: Year 9.

Venue: Canford Cliffs, Poole Beach

The Dorset County FA Youth Council is a group of 8 young leaders who represent the football views of young people in the county.

The Festival on both days is free to enter, although places are limited and attendance will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. The festival will be on sand. All players must not wear trainers or boots at all times, with barefoot recommended but socks are allowed as well, otherwise individuals will not be permitted to play.

We recommend bringing between 8-10 young people per team, with the makeup of your year 7 and 8 teams being roughly equal in regards to year 7 and 8 pupils, with the mini-tournament aspect of the festival undertaking a 5v5 format, with rolling subs throughout the game.  Boys will play together and Girls will play together in two separate tournaments.

You must pre-register your interest in attending by completing the application form<http://authoring.dorsetfa.com/clubs-and-leagues/summer-tournaments?db=master> and e-mailing it to Rosie.Eggleston@dorsetfa.com<mailto:Rosie.Eggleston@dorsetfa.com> by 8th May 2016.

During the event school teams will have the opportunity to play beach soccer and also develop key leadership skills (influential communication, collaborative teamwork and problem solving) through physical based activities. These sessions are designed to test and improve some of the Dorset FA Youth Council’s core values, as well as developing your pupils as leaders.

The day itself will consist of registration between 11.30am and 11.45pm, with the tournament and stations operating from 12.00pm with the presentation and close of the festival starting from about 16.20pm, with us hoping teams will be away by 17.00pm.
