England flew out on Tuesday night to Lagos, Nigeria to participate in their final event of the 2015 season. They will be wearing the official ‘3 lions’ match kit as The FA have agreed to support the national team for this event. Discussions will take place in the new year that hopefully will develop this relationship further.
Head Coach, Terry Bowes has selected two players that will be making their England debut’s in Cameron O’Rourke and Tommy Jackson. Both are 16 years of age and Cameron follows in the footsteps of his father, Jamie O’Rourke who was a previous Captain and Head Coach of the national team. We wish them both a successful tournament.
2015 has been a good year on all fronts. The men’s national team finished in their highest ever position in the Euro League. The women’s team competed in Switzerland and showed enormous potential for next year, which is expected to be the biggest ever year for Women’s Beach Soccer. On the domestic front, the established regions continue to flourish and a number of new regions have emerged that show promise for expansion over the next few years.
England will train Thursday afternoon in the official stadium located on the beach in Lagos.
