England Beach Soccer to be part of The FA’s ‘Reds v Blues’ day on Saturday 7th June.

Many of you may already have plans of your own to take part in the The FA’s weekend of football celebrations starting Friday 6 June but will you be down in Poole for the Beach Soccer festival that the Dorset FA are running?

The weekend, which will be called Reds v Blues – marking the classic team colours used most often in the nation’s favourite game – aims to inspire people of all ages and abilities to sign up and represent a Red or Blue team before playing football in whatever form they wish.

Whilst our sport is known as Beach Soccer it is part of the small-sided version of football. Whether those new to the sport call it ‘soccer’ or ‘football’ is not important. What is important is that our sport is finally getting the recognition that it warrants and deserves.

England players will be on hand to mentor the teams participating in the festival and help them understand how to play Beach Soccer rather than 5-a-side football on sand. We know there is a world of difference and a whole host of different techniques to master.

The FA is also working with 50 County FAs to run activities on the Saturday, with the Dorset event being one of three flagship events. The others are a disability football showcase at St. George’s Park, and an eleven-a-side event in Liverpool.

EBSL are pleased to be supporting the event and hope everyone has a most memorable day.
