In the summer of 2012 EBSL (England Beach Soccer Ltd) became responsible for promoting and developing Beach Soccer in England and took over all aspects to do with the Men’s national team.

The last 18 months have seen the national team win their first ever tournaments, the formation of women’s national team and a development squad, as EBSL are keen to create a pathway for more players to gain international experience.

2014 promises to be an exciting year with the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in Italy in September and the possibility of a major international event taking place in England – watch this space as an announcement is expected in the next week or so.

Grassroots development of Beach Soccer is also a priority for 2014. The Isle of Wight continues to be the flagship region for the sport which is still largely played on the south coast with active scenes in Jersey, Portsmouth and Poole. These regions will continue to receive support from EBSL but there is a strong desire to see the sport expand to urban and more northern areas in the years ahead..
